What Is Your Favorite Part of a Wedding Day?
“Hands-down, it’s the father daughter dance.”
Just a day ago, we had a lively conversation over beers with a newly engaged couple about MN wedding photography. During our initial consultations with prospective brides and grooms we like to take time to get to know one another…after all, if we don’t mesh with the bride and groom, an entire wedding day together would be a recipe for disaster, right? While we were getting to know each other, the couple asked us what our favorite part of the wedding day is. For Jon, it’s the first look (more on that in another blog post). He loves the excitement of capturing that fleeting moment when the bride and groom see one another for the very first time. For me, my answer is hands-down the father daughter dance.
Why Do I Love The Father Daughter Dance?
Their question inspired me to pull together a small collection of my all-time favorite father-daughter dance photos. I don’t know how detailed I need to be with words when the images speak for themselves. When the father and daughter dance on the wedding day, there is happiness that is indescribable written all over dad’s face.
While the actual song only takes a few minutes, the feeling of time stopped never fails. Looking through the lens of my camera I strive to capture that 1 great image that shows the bride’s dad filled to the brim with happiness, joy and pride that his little girl has grown into a beautiful bride.
Seriously – look at that smile!
The look on these dads’ faces is something that can’t be faked or made up, am I right?
For all you past brides and grooms out there – what was your most memorable or favorite moment from your day?
